A Portentous Sight

A guest house where Lychees are served,
something portentous appears
atop an aspen tree.

This reminds me of Tuesday night.

I returned to CT, exhausted, to find a small raccoon in the front yard swatting at blinking fire flies dipping and darting over the grass.

Chweebus works in mysterious ways...

I would think myself lucky if I could walk into a scene that is straight out of a Hayao Miyazaki film.

You know civilization has reached its peak when life on Earth starts imitating anime.

The question is: where does the raccoon (as a species) go from here?

[Our particular little bandit slipped out of the yard, through a chink in the stone wall, when he heard the deadbolt turn in the door. These are the aspects of CT life that I will miss.]
